Jesus taught on our relationship to money more than any other topic in the gospels. Even in ancient times, socio-economic systems favoured the rich while exploiting the poor. Supporting anti-poverty initiatives and gathering food items for local food banks is important to us at St. John's. Giving to St. John's directly is a way you can resist the messaging that claims we are to worry only about ourselves. Giving is a spiritual practice because money can represent our energy, efforts, and skills - and it is to our own benefit to give back to God what God has blessed us with.
